Support of MMG Symposium 2019

The Microbiology and Molecular Genetics graduate student program hosted their 8th biennial symposium “Frontiers in Microbial Biology” at Emory on May 3rd. CF-AIR/CF@LANTA was a sponsor of the event, which was open to the greater Atlanta community, and supported the visit of Dr. E. Peter Greenberg from the University of Washington to present a seminar on quorum sensing in the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Dr. Greenberg was hosted by CF-AIR trainee Ashley Cross who coordinated his visit. The symposium also featured talks of importance to the CF-AIR community by Dr. Michael Baym (Harvard) on antibiotic resistance, Dr. David Swayne (USDA) on influenza transmission, and Dr. Jeffrey Weiser (NYU) on respiratory co-infections.
