Research
My research focuses on understanding the crosstalk between iron metabolism and metabolic diseases including diabetes and liver diseases. We attempt to elucidate how the pathological changes associated with the above diseases alter systemic and cellular iron metabolism, and to define the molecular mechanisms by which altered iron metabolism induces the pathogenesis and progression of metabolic diseases.
