Biography

Dr. Michael Ripple, MD, PhD, serves as an Assistant Professor within the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Ripple completed his MD and PhD in Genetics at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, followed by a Fogarty Global Health Fellowship at the Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy in Buenos Aires. He completed residency in pediatrics at Washington University/ St. Louis Children’s Hospital followed by a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Research

Dr. Ripple’s research interests are in pediatric ARDS (PARDS) phenotyping and the role of endothelial dysfunction in the development of PARDS. He is a member of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) network and collaborates on multi-center trials. In addition to his research, he has a long-standing interest in global health and practicing medicine in low resource settings.
