Research
A long standing interest of Dr. Hong’s laboratory has pursued studies of cystic fibrosis (CF). Her group investigates structural and functional aspects of the CFTR gene in relation to disease associated mutations, with the goal of promoting new ‘precision-type’ treatments. She has served as a member of the international CF theratyping initiative, and developed epithelial cell models encoding clinically relevant CF alleles.
