Research
My research is focused on defining the mechanisms that promote HIV persistence in ART-treated HIV-infected individuals. My laboratory employs novel in vitro, ex vivo and OMICS approaches to identify pathways and mechanisms that better our understanding of HIV latency establishment and maintenance. My goal is to identify and evaluate therapeutic strategies to counteract these mechanisms, which will constitute the basis for the design of clinical studies aimed at eradication HIV.
