2011-2012 Georgia Tech-Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pilot Grants Program-Announcement of Awards

The Institute for People and Technology (IPaT) is pleased to announce new research awards in the 2011-12 Pilot Grants Program jointly supported by Georgia Tech and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Twelve (12) proposals were submitted in response to this year’s Request for Applications, and four (4) proposals were approved for funding. The program addresses key scientific and societal challenges in the delivery of effective healthcare from acute care to everyday home settings. This year’s recipients include experts from across Georgia Tech (from the schools of Computational Science and Engineering, Interactive Computing, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering and the Georgia Tech Research Institute) as well as Children’s and Emory University’s Department of Pediatrics. Past recipients have a strong track record of subsequent extra-mural funding. Support for this year’s program was made possible through matching allocations from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Institute for People and Technology, and the Georgia Tech Research Institute.

The following proposals will receive funding for the 2011-12 cycle.
