My laboratory research is focused on dissecting the mechanisms leading to arterial stenosis and complications such as stroke in sickle cell disease. We study the number and function of endothelial progenitor cells from people with sickle cell disease, and we have developed vascular remodeling systems to use in transgenic sickle cell mice.
