Biography

Muna Qayed, MD, MSCR currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. She is an attending physician in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation and Medical Director of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Areas of Interest:

Dr. Qayed's research interests include developing more effective prophylaxis/ treatment against graft versus host disease (GVHD) in patients undergoing allogeneic blood and marrow transplant and incorporating biomarkers for early diagnosis. Her current work focuses on establishing and validating biomarkers in acute GVHD, including the role of microbiome alterations in GVHD and infections post transplantation, and investigating the use of mesenchymal stromal cells for the prevention and treatment of GVHD.
