Biography

Dr. Maud Mavigner is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Her research work focuses on HIV persistence. After obtaining her PhD from the Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, Maud joined the laboratory of Dr. Guido Silvestri, at Emory University in 2011. Her postdoctoral research focused on developing strategies to cure HIV infection using the model of SIV infection of rhesus macaques. In 2013, Maud Mavigner joined Dr. Ann Chahroudi’s lab in the department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. She is working at gaining a better understanding of HIV/SIV persistence in infants and investigating novel SIV cure approaches in nonhuman primates.
