Tracy-Ann Read, PhD

Upon graduation, she completed her Master of Science in the Department of Physiology at the University of Bergen in 1996, completing her Doctorate of Philosophy there in 2001. After graduating from the Ph.D. program, Dr. Read worked as a post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. Gregory Riggins at Johns Hopkins and Duke University from 2002 to 2004. Her post-doctoral work focused on the serial analysis of gene expression in invasive glioma. Dr. Read has worked from 2004 to present as a Research Associate at Duke University under the supervision of Dr. Robert Wechsler-Reya. Her recent work at Duke focused on medulloblastoma and cancer stem cells.
Dr. Read is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Emory's Department of Neurosurgery and is Director of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Laboratory at the Winship Cancer Institute, with start-up funding provided by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
