Mehul V. Raval, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Surgery in the Departments of Surgery and Pediatrics at Emory University.  Dr. Raval’s leadership of CORPH is with a special focus on building collaboration surrounding health services research within our system.  His specific areas of interest include surgical outcomes, quality improvement, safety, value-based care, econometrics, and health policy studies.

Dr. Raval is an accomplished outcomes researcher and mentor. He serves as Principle Investigator on a $1.1M R01 grant from the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality to study the value of children's surgical care using payment data at children's hospitals as compared to non-children's hospitals for frequently performed surgical procedures. This work is designed to inform and encourage pricing transparency and cultivation of a high quality, value-centric healthcare system for all children in the U.S.  Dr. Raval’s mentorship efforts reach medical students, residents, and students from the Rollins School of Public Health. His mentees have made local, regional, and national presentations and received awards for their health services research.
