Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center

Overview
At the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center we concentrate our research in four main areas:
• Brain tumors
• Neuroblastoma
• Sickle cell disease
• Clotting disorders
In turn, the modalities used to help fight these conditions include: innovative therapy, blood and marrow transplant (BMT), and cancer survivorship.
Because every advancement in curing childhood cancer is the result of research, physicians at the Aflac Cancer Center conduct research in conjunction with numerous national and local groups, including:
• Children’s Oncology Group (COG)
• National Cancer Institute (NIH)
• New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Therapy (NANT)
• Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutic Investigator Consortium (POETIC)
• Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium (PBMTC)
• Sickle Cell Clinical Research Network (SCRN)
• Hemophilia of Georgia
• Emory University School of Medicine
• Emory Winship Cancer Center
